VACANCY

Site : Maidstone Mill

Job Title : Spiller Operator

Grade : A3

Reports to : Extraction Supervisor

Department : Production

Main purpose of the job

  • Tip cane from delivery trucks onto carrier tables by using the mechanisms provided on the control panel for the spiller
  • Remove spilled cane from the environs of the spiller
  • Ensure spiller bay is cleaned off spilled cane
  • Report any/all equipment defects
  • Adhere to all SHE policies and procedures
  • Follow any lawful instruction given by a supervisor

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric with certified spiller crane licence
  • 1 year prior experience working in a similar role in a sugar manufacturing environment

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be physically fit, good vision, no speech and hearing impediments
  • Must be able to operate moving equipment and be able to work shift and overtime upon request
