Senior Data Engineer – 06 Months Contract

Our client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support the design, build, testing, implementation and operationalisation of the Global Markets Collateral Data Platform feature. The DPL platform remains in scope only to the extent that DPL capabilities are required to enable, integrate, govern and operationalise the collateral data platform feature.

The primary objective is to establish a governed, scalable, and reusable collateral data capability within the DPL ecosystem, enabling accurate, timely and auditable collateral data across trading, risk, liquidity, treasury, finance and regulatory reporting processes.

Collateral Data Domain Engineering

• Design, build and implementation of collateral-related data products within the DPL ecosystem.
• Identification, onboarding and integration of collateral data sources from upstream systems.
• Development of canonical collateral data models and business-aligned data structures.
• Implementation of data transformation, enrichment, normalisation and aggregation processes.
• Support for historical and current-state collateral data management requirements.

DPL Platform Enablement for Collateral Data

• Design and implementation of the DPL platform capabilities required to support collateral data ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption.
• Alignment of collateral data products to the DPL target architecture, medallion architecture principles, and agreed engineering standards.
• Configuration and implementation of DPL data structures, environments, orchestration patterns, and reusable components required for the collateral data feature.
• Integration of collateral data pipelines with approved DPL platform services, monitoring, access controls, lineage, and operational processes.
• Support for DPL platform readiness activities required to move collateral data products into controlled test and production environments.

Data Pipeline Development

• Design and development of batch, near real-time and real-time data pipelines supporting collateral data products.
• Implementation of ingestion frameworks, orchestration mechanisms, and monitoring capabilities.
• Development of reusable engineering patterns aligned to DPL standards and architecture principles.
• Performance optimisation and scalability testing of implemented data pipelines.
• Support for deployment, production readiness, and operational handover activities.

Data Quality, Lineage and Governance Enablement

• Implementation of data quality checks, reconciliation controls and monitoring required for collateral data products.
• Support for data stewardship processes, data ownership frameworks, and exception management processes.
• Definition and implementation of business validation rules and data quality thresholds relating to collateral data.
• Development of auditability, lineage and traceability capabilities supporting regulatory and governance requirements.
• Alignment with data governance, architecture, security, risk, audit, and compliance requirements.

Engineering Delivery and Collaboration

• Participation in architecture reviews, solution design workshops and implementation planning sessions.
• Collaboration with Data Architecture, Data Governance, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and relevant platform teams.
• Contribution to engineering standards, reusable assets, delivery artefacts, and documentation.
• Knowledge transfer and mentoring of engineering teams.
