Site : Maidstone Mill

Job Title : CBM Technician

Grade : C3

Reports to : Projects Engineer

Department : Engineering

Main purpose of the job

Monitors equipment used in a Sugar Milling and Processing Factory. The incumbent will be trained on how to use CBM equipment. The incumbent must have knowledge and ability to perform various tasks required including:

  • Use of vibration meters, computerized vibration data collectors
  • Use of thermography camera and have ability to interpret readings
  • The use of sound and oil analyzers
  • To perform balancing of fans, rotors and rotating equipment on site
  • Monitors and collects oil and grease samples
  • Have ability to interpret all vibration readings
  • Prepares and present action notes and reports on all findings
  • To perform laser alignment on all equipment on site
  • To comply with the SHE policy and to be conversant with policies and procedure applicable on the site
  • To have ability to identify problems in lube systems, leaks, change in lube colour etc, and interpret findings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 with relevant tertiary qualification
  • Three years’ experience, aligned with a preferred proven service delivery.

Personal Qualities

  • To have ability to work within a team
  • Proficiency in English (spoken, written and reading)
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.
  • Effective communicator-must be self-motivated and enthusiastic and be able to demonstrate the ability to investigate and solve problems as they arise.
