Assistant Safety & Security Manager (Monthly Paid – CTC) You’ll support the Head of Safety & Security in planning, implementing, and monitoring all safety and security operations within the hotel. Part of your role will be to ensure the protection of guests, employees, contractors, visitors, assets, and information, while maintaining full compliance with legal, brand, and hotel standards. As our Assistant Safety & Security Manager, you will play a key leadership role in risk management, emergency preparedness, team supervision, and fostering a strong safety and security culture across the hotel. You will support and oversee daily security operations to ensure a safe and secure hotel environment as well as identify, assess, and mitigate safety and security risks, including loss prevention initiatives. Aside from this, you will lead and coordinate responses to incidents, emergencies, and evacuations. Part of your role will be to ensure compliance with legislation, hotel policies, brand standards, and audit requirements as well as to supervise, coach, and develop the security team to maintain high professional standards. Producing accurate reports and liaising with management, authorities, and service providers along with assuming the responsibilities of the Head of Safety & Security during periods of absence, will all form part of this role. Your Higher Certificate in Safety & Security, Risk Management, Occupational Health & Safety (NQF Level 5-6) as well as PSIRA Registration – Grade B (minimum) and First Aid Level 1 and Basic Fire Fighting Certificate are prerequisites to this role. You have a minimum of 3 - 4 years’ experience in safety and/or security operations within hospitality environments with experience supporting safety committees and compliance meetings, loss prevention and asset protection and experience with access to control systems, control rooms, panic alarms, electric fencing, fire detection systems, fire alarms, and other integrated security technologies. Your exposure to EHS, OHS, or risk compliance audits and working knowledge of COIDA / Workmen’s Compensation and Injury on Duty (IOD) processes, including the timely submissions of claims will see you far in this role. Aside from the above, you need a valid Driver’s License (Code B), satisfactory criminal record, subject to assessment of the nature, severity, relevance, and recency of any offence as well as be physically fit and capable of conducting regular patrols throughout the property. With a focus on incident investigation, reporting, and managing advanced security systems such as CCTV and access control, you demonstrate integrity and situational awareness. Your aptitude for directing, analysing, planning, and producing results will complement your cooperative approach and commitment to providing constructive feedback as part of a dynamic team.
