We're looking for a passionate Control Systems Engineer who enjoys solving

complex automation challenges and wants to grow into a technical leadership role.

This is more than a programming position.

 

You'll design, develop and commission world-class automated manufacturing

systems while working alongside experienced engineers on projects delivered across

South Africa and internationally.

 

For the right person, this role provides a structured pathway into a Control Systems

Supervisor position where you'll lead programming teams, mentor engineers and

drive successful project delivery.

What we're looking for:

a) Qualifications

  • National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent
  • Valid driver's licence

 

b) Experience

We're looking for someone with approximately 3-5 years of industrial

automation experience, preferably within the automotive manufacturing

industry.

 

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Siemens PLCs
  • Beckhoff
  • Allen Bradley
  • Mitsubishi
  • Omron
  • Industrial Robotics
  • Motion Control
  • SCADA Systems
  • Machine Vision
  • Industrial Networking (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Serial
  • Communications)

What you'll be doing:

You'll become involved in every phase of an automation project including:

  • Developing PLC, HMI and SCADA software
  • Designing control philosophies and machine sequences
  • Configuring industrial networks and fieldbus systems
  • Integrating robots, vision systems, motion control and measurement
  • equipment
  • Testing and commissioning equipment both locally and internationally
  • Supporting customers during installation and production ramp-up
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation
  • Working closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering teams
  • Identifying opportunities to improve software standards and engineering
  • efficiency

 

As your experience grows, you'll also begin to:

  • Lead small programming teams
  • Plan software milestones and project deliverables
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Coordinate commissioning activities
  • Interface directly with customers
  • Drive continuous improvement within the department
  • Progress toward becoming a Control Systems Supervisor
