Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior L3 Hyper-V Engineer to join a Managed Services Operations team supporting a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex incidents, performing proactive maintenance, and ensuring the stability and availability of the client's Hyper-V platform and supporting infrastructure.

This is a hands-on operational role within a high-performance support team. The engineer will be expected to participate in after-hours support activities, planned maintenance windows, weekend work, and overtime when required to meet operational and project demands.

Responsibilities

Hyper-V Infrastructure Support

• Provide Level 3 support for Microsoft Hyper-V environments.

• Manage and support Hyper-V clusters in production environments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex virtualization issues.

• Configure and maintain Hyper-V Replica and Live Migration.

• Perform capacity planning and infrastructure optimization.

• Ensure high availability and business continuity of virtualized workloads.

Operations & Incident Management

• Act as an escalation point for critical infrastructure incidents.

• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.

• Participate in Major Incident Management activities.

• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity.

• Maintain operational documentation and support procedures.

Windows Server Administration

• Administer and support Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 environments.

• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy services.

• Implement server hardening and security best practices.

• Support patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management activities.

Storage & Networking

• Support SAN, NAS, and Storage Spaces Direct environments.

• Troubleshoot storage performance and connectivity issues.

• Manage Hyper-V virtual networking, VLANs, and network configurations.

• Work closely with storage and networking teams to resolve infrastructure issues.

Change & Project Delivery

• Execute approved changes in line with ITIL processes.

• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and transformation projects.

• Participate in disaster recovery testing and implementation activities.

• Support the introduction of new technologies into the operational environment.

Experience

• Matric and a Degree in IT

• Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise infrastructure support.

• Minimum 3 years' experience administering Microsoft Hyper-V environments.

• Strong experience with:

• Microsoft Hyper-V

• Windows Server 2016/2019/2022

• Active Directory

• DNS and DHCP

• PowerShell scripting and automation

• Enterprise Storage Solutions (SAN/NAS)

• Microsoft networking technologies

Operational Experience

• Experience working in a Managed Services or Operations environment.

• Strong incident management and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Experience supporting business-critical production systems.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

• Exposure to ITIL-based service management processes.
