Main duties:

Underwriting and Administrative Support:
•Assist in issuing new policies, renewals, and endorsements under the guidance of experienced underwriters.
•Help prepare new business quotes and ensure that all related documentation is processed accurately.
•Support the team in adhering to underwriting standards, policies, and procedures.
•Participate in routine administrative tasks, including saving and managing documents electronically.
•Provide administrative assistance to underwriters with customer queries and requests, ensuring all interactions are documented and followed up.

Client Interaction and Service Delivery:
•Assist in maintaining high service quality by supporting the resolution of customer queries and complaints.
•Help in negotiating renewal terms and preparing the necessary documentation for the underwriters.
•Develop an understanding of the operational processes to contribute to achieving service delivery goals.
•Collaborate with the underwriting team to ensure timely and accurate client service.

Team Collaboration:
•Work closely with experienced underwriters to ensure service levels are met.
•Learn from team members and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.

Assist in transferring knowledge and skills gained during the internship to colleagues.Continuous Learning and Improvement:
•Adhere to company policies, practices, and procedures while identifying areas for personal and team improvement.
•Provide feedback and suggestions for process improvements as you gain experience in the role.
•Engage in continuous learning to enhance your understanding of underwriting processes and industry standards.

Job Evaluation Criteria:

Qualifications:
•Completed Grade 12 (Matric) with a one-year course focused on administration
•A strong interest in starting a career in the insurance industry.
•Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
