 Three Sugar Manufacturing mills situated on along the North coast of Kwa Zulu Natal stretching from Tongaat through to Empangeni.

A sugar Refining operations based in South Coast Road Durban

An animal feeds manufacturing plant situated in Tongaat alongside the Maidstone Sugar Mill.

A technical operations support comprising technical specialists who provide high level support to the operations both in South Africa and foreign operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Matric, Boilermaker trade test
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a heavy industrial environment, the bulk of which preferably within the Sugar Industry.
  • A team player with good leadership ability and organisational and planning skills that is dedicated, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • Lead and manage all Fabrication department employees - maintaining discipline, communication, motivation, and safety
  • Perform standby duties at a supervisory capacity.
  • Management of asset care activities including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders
  • Continuous evaluation of process control philosophy and initiative improvement actions in order to achieve asset performance target
  • Ensure availability of critical spares for all process equipment.
  • Responsible for the management of the allocated instrumentation maintenance budget and prudent expenditure in maintaining plant / equipment availability.
  • Take responsibility for all safety aspects in area of responsibility (meetings, work allocation, safety audits and projects)
  • Coach and mentor Apprentices
