Tongaat Hulett Limited has a proud 133-year history and a strong socio-economic legacy in KwaZulu-Natal province, in South Africa, and into sub-Saharan Africa. Technical operations include the following: -

 Three Sugar Manufacturing mills situated on along the North coast of Kwa Zulu Natal stretching from Tongaat through to Empangeni.   A sugar Refining operations based in South Coast Road Durban   An animal feeds manufacturing plant situated in Tongaat alongside the Maidstone Sugar Mill.   A technical operations support comprising technical specialists who provide high level support to the operations both in South Africa and foreign operations.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Matric or NQF 4 plus trade tasted boilermaking
• Minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience in industrial environment, ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions
• Good troubleshooting, attention to detail and communication skill.

Main purpose of the job

• Carry out day to day boilermaking / welding repairs as given by the foreman
• Manufacture flame cut and welded items to given drawings
• Fabricate and install pipes, cones, chutes and other steel components
• Shaping and fabricating parts
• Inspecting equipment for proper functioning
• Keep detailed records of work performed, including materials and specifications

Perform basic rigging and lifting as required for task allocated
