Qualifications and Experience Required - Grade 12 (Matric) with passes in Mathematics and Physical Science; relevant tertiary qualification (Diploma in Chemistry or Analytical Science) is a strong advantage. - Previous Laboratory experience and familiar with plant conditions. - 1–2 years of hands-on experience in a testing, manufacturing, or clinical laboratory environment. - Strong computer literacy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Main Purpose of the Job - Collecting, receiving, labelling, and organizing samples for testing while ensuring strict sample integrity - Cleaning, sterilizing, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments to ensure accurate readout - Maintain accurate laboratory records. - Assist with the preparation and evaluation of laboratory samples. - Assist with internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Analyse A, B and C sugar stream products - Capturing precise test results and monitoring lab inventory - Enforcing Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and maintaining a sterile, organized workspace - To perform any duty assigned by Process Supervisor during Monday stops and whenever the mill is not crushing - Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure good housekeeping practices. - Co-operate with management to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act - Carry out any lawful order given and obey the company SHE rules, Company codes and procedures - Adhere to SHEQ standards and practice.
