As we continue our journey toward luxury, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Hotel Maintenance Manager to support the Chief Engineer in overseeing the hotel's maintenance operations. Minimum Requirements • National Diploma or Trade Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Building Services (Red Seal preferred) • Minimum 5–7 years' experience within hotel, facilities, or building maintenance • Minimum 3 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role • Previous experience within a hotel, hospital, or corporate building environment essential • Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, and general building maintenance • Working knowledge of CMMS systems such as OMNI, INFOR, HotSOS, or similar maintenance management systems • Strong leadership, task delegation, communication, and people management skills • Excellent planning, fault-finding, and problem-solving abilities • OHS or Health and Safety certification advantageous • Valid South African ID or valid work permit • Professional grooming and presentation • CV must be fully updated prior to submission What You'll Be Doing • Supporting the Chief Engineer in developing and leading the Engineering and Maintenance team • Supervising Foremen, Technicians, Electricians, Plumbers, and external contractors • Conducting daily team briefings, allocating work, monitoring productivity, and assisting with shift planning • Managing all maintenance requests and work orders through the CMMS system • Responding promptly to emergency repairs and guest maintenance concerns • Inspecting guest rooms, public areas, plant rooms, and hotel facilities to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently • Managing the Preventative Maintenance Programme (PPM) to minimise downtime and maximise equipment reliability • Coordinating the maintenance of chillers, boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, generators, fire protection systems, water heaters, and mechanical equipment • Supporting sustainability initiatives by monitoring electricity, water, and gas consumption while identifying opportunities for improved efficiency • Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, SANS regulations, fire safety requirements, PPE standards, and Lock Out Tag Out procedures • Assisting with hotel refurbishments, renovations, and capital projects while managing contractors to minimise disruption to guests • Maintaining asset registers, service records, warranty documentation, maintenance inventories, spare parts, and consumables • Training, mentoring, and developing the Engineering team while promoting accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence • Working closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage, Security, and all hotel departments to ensure seamless operations • Providing maintenance reports, operational updates, and technical recommendations to the Chief Engineer • Supporting The President Hotel's journey toward luxury through technical excellence, preventative maintenance, and operational leadership Why Join The President Hotel • Be part of Cape Town's Most Loved Hotel • Work in a high-volume, professional hotel environment • Play a key role in our journey toward luxury • Lead a skilled Engineering and Maintenance team responsible for maintaining world-class hotel facilities • Training and development opportunities within a growing hotel • Staff meals on duty and uniform provided • Discounts on dining, accommodation, and selected hotel facilities • Competitive salary, company contribution to medical and pension and great team culture Contact informationEmhke |
