Job Title: Laboratory Relief

Grade: B3

Reports To: Process Superintendent

Department / Centre : Production

Main Purpose of the job: Provide coverage for laboratory staff as when required

Conduct analysis of boiler water, VHP, factory streams, effluent water, and special samples.

Perform sampling and analytical testing of factory streams and products.

Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, including washing of scales.

Prepare and compile accurate laboratory reports.

Verify and monitor laboratory instruments (e.g., ovens, water baths, polarimeters, UV spectrophotometers), including working with hot surfaces.

Prepare all laboratory reagents in accordance with standard procedures.

Conduct weekly stock taking

Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.

Qualifications & Experience

A tertiary qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering

Prior experience in the sugar processing industry, preferably within a laboratory environment.

Demonstrates accuracy, a positive work attitude, and confidence in task execution

Hard worker, paying attention to details

Good communication skills.
