The Marketing team are looking for an energetic, detail-orientated, creative, and passionate PR and Market Manager to join the PR and B2B Market team to manage and nurture the Africa, Asia and UAE markets, supporting the PR and broader marketing and sales teams. We are a dedicated bunch who are constantly looking at ways to elevate our brand purpose of leaving our world a better place than we found it, through the delivery of extraordinary guest experiences.

The individual who holds this role, will have a demonstrated ability to remain calm and logical in a fast paced, high pressured and complex business and be able to switch hats and juggle seamlessly between PR media facing and B2B sales facing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and work annually on a proactive PR strategy for your markets, in conjunction with the Group B2B Marketing & PR Manager and aligned to the overall business needs and objectives
  • Develop an annual plan for Africa, Asia and UAE markets with an associated budget aligned to a media travel plan
  • Cultivate relationships with influential print and digital media or thought leaders within your sector
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships on an on-going basis.
  • Brief spokespeople within the organisation on communicating with the media relating to your markets of influence
  • May be required to organise promotional events such as press conferences or open days 
  • Manage and facilitate the organisation of all key media trips aligned to the strategy and budget
  • Manage media enquiries and interview requests daily
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends
  • Build and maintain key relationships with the sales teams and to identify the best ways we can support them with sales tools to ensure that they are always brand aligned and have the latest information.
  • Develop and maintain a key B2B market strategy aligned with sales for the respective markets (Africa, Asia and UAE)
  • Drive and facilitate consortium market strategy annually in turn building on key industry relationships and supporting the sales teams to success
  • Develop and work alongside the &Beyond brand and sales team the development and continued enhancements of the groups and incentive business
  • Drive integrated lodge campaigns from a sales and PR perspective, working cross-functionally to align commercial priorities, media opportunities and sales enablement. This includes shaping sales toolkits, identifying PR angles, briefing PR agencies, supporting trade and media communications, and measuring performance across both reputation and revenue-driving channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the following internal teams:
    • B2B Sales team and International Sales reps
    • Reservations
    • Lodge teams (media hosting)
    • Conservation teams
  • Work with the Channel specialist to support the following:
    • Tradeshow stands, gifts & uniforms
    • Sales events and or roadshows
    • Sales trip requirements
    • Sales presentation

&Beyond Bateleur Club

  • Plan and oversee the Bateleur Club communications calendar, ensuring members receive timely, relevant and engaging updates.
  • Drive the creation of member-facing communications, including newsletters, announcements, invitations, event updates, renewal messages and campaign communications.
  • Ensure communications feel personal, considered and valuable, rather than promotional or over-frequent.
  • Work with CRM and marketing teams to segment messaging where needed, ensuring relevance across different member profiles, regions and travel interests.
  • Support the development of communications around member benefits, new experiences, exclusive invitations and Club milestones.
  • Monitor the performance of Bateleur Club communications across key channels, including email engagement, member response, campaign performance and qualitative feedback.
  • Use insights to refine messaging, content themes and communication frequency.
  • Track PR and storytelling opportunities, including media interest, member stories and reputational value.
  • Gather feedback from internal teams to identify where communication gaps, confusion or inconsistencies exist.
  • Recommend improvements to strengthen clarity, relevance and member connection over time.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Proven working experience in public relations required with minimum of 2 years PR experience
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and international level
  • Strong relationships with business and industry media outlets
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Event planning experience
  • Speaking and presentation skills and the ability to organise and plan PR strategies together with the tactics needed to achieve the overall company’s ambitions
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail
  • The ability to keep information confidential
  • Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
  • Ability to work in high-stress environments, often for long hours
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
  • Travel experience and a team player
  • Excellent communication skills (E.g. verbal, written, reporting and body language)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Three year tertiary qualification from an accredited institution
  • Personal qualities and experience in the field are the most desired attributes.
