Groups & FIT Specialist You will ensure that reservations are maximised through booking, daily follow-up, and reservation confirmation, thereby ensuring maximum room revenue for the Hotel. As our Groups & FIT Specialist, you will handle phone & email enquiries regarding reservations, process reservations, including cancellations and changes accurately & efficiently according to procedures in Opera, as well as update booking systems with new reservations & changes. Part of your role will be to update all channel bookings with the correct information as per the emails received, ensure detailed billing instructions is added to bookings, and monitor availability and manage overbooking situations. Ensuring all special requests and requirements are met, preparing reports on reservation activity, and providing exceptional customer service to clients will form part of your duties. You will stay up to date on Hotel activities and offerings, upsell them to guests, resolve any issues or complaints related to reservations, and assist with other administrative tasks as needed. Assisting in achieving the minimum monthly prescribed targets set by hotel management, in accordance with the Hotel’s annual budget and ensuring booking revenue is maximised, and no unnecessary revenue is lost, will form part of your responsibilities. To be successful, you have a Matric Certificate, Hotel Diploma or Degree, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a busy, high-demand environment. You have a basic understanding of revenue management and of how to implement yield management principles. You bring reliability and adaptability to every task, showcasing your strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Your background includes basic accounting skills, proficiency in MS Office, Opera, and GDS operating systems, and experience with website intranets, making you computer-literate and resourceful. With a commercial drive and the ability to work under pressure, you thrive in fast-paced environments, contributing to customer-focused operations through teamwork and planning. Your flexibility allows you to work various shifts as needed, and your solid decision-making and judgment enhance the team’s success. With a strong grasp of hotel product knowledge, you are well-equipped to support and excel in an organised, team-oriented environment.
