Business Architect – 6 months contract

Overview

Our client in the insurance sector is seeking an experienced Business Architect to drive strategic business transformation initiatives across enterprise-wide programmes. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning business strategy, operating models, capabilities, processes, and technology initiatives to support organisational objectives and enable business agility.

The Business Architect will work closely with executive stakeholders, enterprise architects, business leaders, product owners, and delivery teams to define future-state business capabilities, transformation roadmaps, and value-driven solutions within a complex enterprise environment.


Key Responsibilities

Business Architecture & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain enterprise business architecture frameworks, standards, and models
  • Translate strategic business objectives into business capability maps, value streams, and target operating models
  • Define current-state and future-state business architectures aligned to organisational goals
  • Identify business transformation opportunities and optimisation initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage with senior business stakeholders to understand strategic priorities and operational challenges
  • Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and architecture engagements across business units
  • Build strong relationships between business and technology stakeholders

Capability & Operating Model Design

  • Develop business capability models and maturity assessments
  • Define business operating models, governance structures, and service models
  • Align business capabilities to technology enablement initiatives

Transformation & Change Enablement

  • Support enterprise transformation programmes and strategic initiatives
  • Drive alignment between business architecture, enterprise architecture, and solution delivery
  • Contribute to business case development, roadmap planning, and investment prioritisation

Governance & Standards

  • Ensure alignment to enterprise architecture principles and governance frameworks
  • Maintain architecture artefacts, repositories, and documentation standards
  • Promote business architecture best practices across the organisation

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Relevant Business Architecture or Enterprise Architecture certifications advantageous

Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in business analysis, enterprise architecture, business architecture, or strategic transformation roles
  • Proven experience within financial services or insurance environments
  • Strong experience designing business capability models and operating models
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise transformation programmes
  • Exposure to Agile, digital transformation, and enterprise change initiatives
