IZI South Africa is seeking a Settlements Manager to join our Team at Head Office, Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for: ensuring the accurate and timely settlements to clients, reconcile bank accounts, and manage sweeps between accounts. Provide essential support to Finance through user profile management and the preparation of monthly banking fee reports. Oversee the end-to-end dye-stained notes process in compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control, Review and Management of Branch Settlements
- Upload settlement files to bank accounts for customer settlements, ensuring payment files are prepared accurately and in accordance with clients’ Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Perform daily reconciliation of settlement bank accounts to maintain accuracy.
- Ensure bulk payments from clients are correctly apportioned and allocated to their respective branch accounts.
Liquidity Monitoring, Support and Management
- Exercise stringent management and control over available credits in bank accounts.
- Ensure that only available credits are utilised to settle clients’ payment files.
Bank Account Administration
- Manage the daily reconciliation of bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the daily sweeping of accounts where applicable.
- Extract, prepare, and allocate monthly bank charges for Finance to import into SAP.
Dye-Stained Notes Management
- Prepare funds and ensure branch documentation is completed comprehensively, meeting requirements specified by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
- Coordinate arrangements with SARB for the acceptance and delivery of dye-stained funds.
- Manage the reimbursement process with SARB, ensuring the timely transfer of paid claims to clients.
Risk Management
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling clients’ information, including bank account details and settlement amounts.
Management and Development of Direct Reports
- Provide ongoing support, coaching, and mentoring to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands.
- Address and manage underperformance among direct reports promptly and professionally.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with teams across Finance, Marketing, and Operations to align plans with overall business objectives.
Health and Safety
- Participate in the design, development, review, implementation, and monitoring of branch, regional, and national safety plans annually.
- Engage actively in company safety forums, including safety meetings and talks.
- Report all safety incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Discuss safety incidents across relevant levels to promote awareness and prevention.
- Follow up on actions assigned through safety meetings, committees, representatives, or management.
- Attend safety education and refresher programmes regularly.
- Comply fully with workplace safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Distribute safety information as required to ensure awareness across the organisation.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is essential.
- A Diploma or Degree in Finance or Accounting is desirable.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a financial role.
- Proven experience with online banking platforms and bank account reconciliation.
- Previous experience within a Cash Management Centre would be highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of ERP and accounting software, with SAP experience preferred.
- Computer literacy in MS Office applications is essential, with intermediate proficiency in Excel and Outlook.
