A leading and highly respected Private Equity Infrastructure Investment firm is expanding and they’re looking for a driven, commercially astute Senior Associate: Credit Fund to join their dynamic team.

About the Role

As a Senior Associate, you’ll play a pivotal role in executing and implementing sophisticated credit and refinancing transactions, particularly within Community Investment Vehicles (CIVs). Your work will focus on renewable energy and battery storage projects under REIPPPP, contributing to impactful, sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Lead and support the origination, structuring, and execution of renewable energy refinancing transactions
• Develop innovative funding solutions for clients, ensuring deals are cost-effective and within risk parameters
• Build and maintain financial models, investment papers, and client presentations
• Conduct commercial and financial due diligence, identifying risks and mitigation strategies
• Analyse investment opportunities and assist in deal sourcing and client pitching
• Engage with key industry stakeholders including IPPs, OEMs, and regulatory bodies
• Review and support negotiation of legal and commercial agreements (PPA, EPC, O&M, etc.)
• Stay ahead of market trends, policy developments, and energy sector dynamics
• Support internal collaboration and ensure seamless transaction execution

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in Project Finance, Private Equity, or Infrastructure Investing
• Strong understanding of the South African & African renewable energy market
• Experience in unlisted/private markets transactions
• Proficiency in financial modelling and Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to travel extensively

Advantageous:

• MBA, CA(SA), or CFA
• Technical knowledge of Solar PV, Wind, and BESS systems
