Please note that this is a live-in position in the Delta

 

KEY OUTPUTS

  • General Maintenance of all electrical equipment in the camps i.e., solar plants, generators, and sewage treatment plants
  • Servicing and maintaining of water pumps, boreholes, and wells.
  • Regular tests of water and recording water levels
  • Advice on any upgrade needed for any equipment in camps.
  • Ensuring that BOH areas are well looked after and repairs done in a timely manner
  • Managing and setting up water and power budgets/costs for the camps
  • Maintaining and accepting responsibility of the equipment you’re responsible for
  • Ensuring that the generator is well serviced, and hours are recorded effectively.
  • Fitting your work hours around guest hours to ensure guests are not disturbed unnecessarily.
  • Form and maintain relationships with external suppliers and contractors.
  • Forming and maintaining relationships with industry players
  • Responsible for all maintenance projects in camp
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Guide budgeting processes for both the monthly maintenance budgets and annual CAPEX budgets.
  • Communicate with General Managers daily on maintenance needs/requirements and reporting on project progress.
  • Oversight of all administration and financial processes relating to maintenance including ordering, issuing and stock control of supplies and tools and equipment

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED (QUALIFICATIONS OR TRAINING PROGRAMS)

  • A diploma/degree in electrical, plumbing or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Valid Drivers’ Licence
  • Valid PRDP Licence

SKILLS & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED

  • Electrical or mechanical skills
  • Must be proactive.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Be willing to constantly move between camps.
  • Be investigative and curious.
  • Have strong analytical skills

The successful candidate should have an enquiring mind, be methodical, pay attention to detail, be creative, show perseverance and patience, ability to work under pressure, ability to accept routine and mundane tasks, have high energy level, be flexible, have the ability to overcome obstacles and persist with the task at hand, be decisive and adaptable.
