Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant
Location: Woodmead
Primary Purpose (Role):
To support management in planning and decision-making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluating financial information, and recommending actions that impact budgeting and forecasting for the business.
Key Responsibilities
The FP&A Accountant will work closely with the FP&A Manager EMEA, assisting with a wide range of financial planning and analysis activities, including but not limited to:
- Taking accountability for all financial budgeting and planning activities
- Preparing regular financial and statistical reports for various business units
- Managing forecasting activities across departments and business units
- Providing financial commentary on budgeting and forecasting information
- Defining financial situations through quantitative financial analyses
- Recommending financial actions by assessing options in line with organisational goals
- Preparing financial reports by collecting, formatting, analysing, and explaining information
- Analysing trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to financial metrics such as sales, expenditure, and profit margin
- Monitoring KPIs and identifying causes of unexpected variances
- Developing and continuously improving budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts
- Producing ad-hoc business performance reports
- Presenting monthly and quarterly financial reports for various units and departments
- Implementing business intelligence tools and dashboard reports
- Developing and analysing financial models to support strategic initiatives
- Supporting the management team and Heads of Department with data-driven analysis
- Preparing and assisting with monthly Group reporting packs for specific business units
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant with a four-year degree or equivalent – Essential
- Completed articles with a top professional firm – Essential
Experience
- 3-4 years’ experience in Finance, Accounting and Administration, including financial and management accounting, IFRS/financial regulations, accounting systems, cash reporting and forecasts, financial reporting and analysis, budgets and planning – Essential
- Proven financial reporting experience of at least 2 years – Essential
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes (3-4 years) – Essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience post-articles – Essential
Knowledge Areas
