Our client, a prestigious international investment firm, is seeking a skilled and culturally astute Global Payroll & HR Officer to ensure the effective execution, administration and compliance of the payroll through their outsourced global payroll service provider all whilst delivering accurate and timely outcomes across all their entities and regions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Payroll & Remuneration Administration
- Coordinate and manage monthly payroll processing across 6 entities covering employees, contractors, and secondees in 9 countries and 6 currencies.
- Upload and validate payroll data with the Organisation’s global payroll provider, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Prepare and execute including reconciliation of payroll transactions and statutory submissions.
- Support the annual remuneration review cycle, including salary adjustments, bonuses, and incentive payments.
- Maintain alignment between HR, payroll, and finance systems to ensure data integrity and audit compliance.
- Partner with Finance on payroll journals, leave journals, reconciliations, and statutory reporting.
- Coordinate payroll matters relating to employees on visas, work permits, secondments, and Employer of Record (EOR) arrangements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support Employment Equity compliance, including payroll data for reporting, pay gap analysis, and audit preparation.
- Act as the primary liaison with external payroll providers, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation across all jurisdictions (contracts, amendments, visas, identification).
- Prepare employment documentation including contracts, addenda, probation and confirmation letters, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes across global locations.
- Track probation reviews, contract renewals, and employee changes (salary, title, reporting lines).
- Maintain organisational charts and employee master data.
HR Systems, Data & Reporting
- Maintain and update HRIS records ensuring global data accuracy and integrity.
- Produce regular HR analytics and reporting (headcount, joiners/leavers, diversity metrics, leave).
- Support RemCo and Management Board reporting through preparation of HR and remuneration data.
- Support employee survey processes including eNPS and pulse surveys.
- Support compliance with labour laws and employment regulations across operating jurisdictions.
- Maintain policy acknowledgement records and document version control.
- Track statutory deadlines including visa expiries, probation reviews, and contract renewals.
- Coordinate documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Maintain centralised employment documentation aligned with local regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate interview scheduling across multiple time zones.
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation in collaboration with HR Business Partners.
- Maintain recruitment trackers, candidate pipelines, and vacancy dashboards.
- Support new hire onboarding logistics including IT access and induction processes.
- Serve as a first point of contact for HR queries, directing matters to the appropriate HRBP.
- Draft and coordinate HR communications including policy updates and process guidance.
- Support employee engagement, wellbeing, and culture initiatives aligned with the Organisation’s values.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive HR and remuneration data.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR and payroll processes.
- Document HR procedures and maintain standard operating manuals.
- Support broader HR projects and organisational initiatives.

Qualification, Skills, and Experience Required
- Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
- 5+ years’ experience managing multi-country, complex payrolls, ideally within small to medium scaling environments within a global investment, asset management, financial services or consulting industry
- Strong understanding of tax frameworks, employment legislation, and Employment Equity requirements across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
- Experience supporting payroll for expatriates, secondees, or employees under work permit and visa arrangements, including coordination with global mobility or immigration teams.
- Proficiency in global payroll platforms, HRIS systems, and advanced Excel/data analysis.
- Experience supporting payroll for expatriates, secondees, or visa-based employees.
- Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail, with proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex payroll issues clearly to non-specialists.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, remotely, and collaboratively across multiple time zones.
- Candidates who are well-travelled or have experience working with international teams will be at a distinct advantage.
