Our client is seeking a skilled GRAP Technical Specialist to lead the preparation and review of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in accordance with the Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP). The ideal candidate will have proven experience in public sector accounting, a deep understanding of GRAP, and the ability to ensure full compliance with relevant reporting frameworks.

• Oversee the preparation, review, and finalisation of GRAP-compliant AFS.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the finance team and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and fully compliant with GRAP and other applicable regulations.
• Lead the implementation of new GRAP standards and amendments.
• Liaise with auditors and manage the audit process relating to AFS.
• Develop and deliver training on GRAP requirements to internal teams.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GRAP, MFMA, PFMA, and other relevant legislation.
• Identify and resolve complex accounting issues and provide recommendations for process improvements.
