GROUP ACCOUNTANT Location: Paarl Employment Type: Full-Time ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly competent and organized Group Accountant to manage the accounting function across a portfolio of companies within the telecommunications infrastructure sector. The ideal candidate will oversee financial reporting, day-to-day accounting operations, compliance, audits, and monthly management information for the group. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Management & Reporting - Prepare monthly management accounts for each entity and for consolidated group reporting - Maintain general ledgers, journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules - Produce cash flow statements, forecasts, and working capital analysis - Consolidate multi-entity results for shareholder reporting Accounting Operations - Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and billing - Manage creditors and debtors age analysis - Perform payment runs ensuring appropriate authority and documentation - Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules and capex tracking Compliance & Governance - Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, SDL and UIF returns - Liaise with SARS regarding assessments, queries, and compliance reviews - Support annual financial statement audits and liaise with external auditors - Oversee CIPC filings, director changes and company secretarial compliance (advantageous) Systems & Process Support - Maintain accounting systems and improve internal financial procedures - Work with operations and project teams to track project costs and margins - Support funding transactions and prepare financial packs for lenders/investors when required REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - Degree in Accounting / Finance / BCom (or equivalent) - Articles (SAICA / SAIPA) preferred but not essential - 3–7 years relevant financial accounting experience - Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs - Experience with multi-entity / group accounting - Proficiency in Sage / Pastel / Xero or similar accounting packages - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables / lookups / modelling advantageous) DESIRED ATTRIBUTES - High attention to detail and accuracy - Strong organisational and deadline management abilities - Ability to work independently and within a small team - Professional integrity and discretion - Comfortable in a growth-oriented environment WHAT WE OFFER - Exposure to a dynamic infrastructure and investment environment - Involvement in meaningful growth initiatives and funding transactions - Competitive compensation (experience-dependent) - Opportunities for professional development - A supportive and performance-orientated culture Contact informationWenz |
