EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - IZI CASH IN TRANSIT DRIVER - CAPE TOWN
Job Introduction
This role is responsible for accepting accountability and responsibility by becoming the custodian of the IZI vehicle and assets, during operational deployment and performing Cash in Transit (CIT) services for various customers, whilst ensuring compliance with all companies policies, driver operating procedures and directives
Main Responsibilities
-
Maintain company security standards by complying to all company vehicle and equipment procedures
-
Receive and sign for the vehicle and all equipment and further check that all is in good working order, and immediately escalate any failures to management
-
Before leaving the branch, an inspection must be done on vehicle to check mechanical roadworthiness and systems and complete daily driver checklist in terms of the company's mandatory security principles (MSP)
-
Responsible and accountable for all systems, technology and equipment used in the vehicle for the day
-
Inspects vehicle on completion of daily duties and escalates any defects/concerns to the Control Room and management before signing off duty, which will grant management enough time to rectify before scheduling the vehicle for the following day

To drive the vehicle responsibly and the recording of details of accidents, robberies or any other incidents
-
Drive responsibly and comply with all traffic regulations as prescribed by the Road Traffic Act
-
Drive responsibly by complying with all G4S Company Health and Safety standards as highlighted in the “Zero Tolerance Zero Harm” policy including the 12 Golden Rules
-
If possible and if it is safe, the crewman/custodian or 3rd man takes photos of the accident scene
-
To immediately report all incidents to the Control room, branch and relevant authorities
-
Obtain as many details as possible in respect of other vehicle details (getaway), possible nature of injuries, and any other detail that may assist emergency services
-
Remain in the vehicle at all times, until management arrives on the scene and approval is given to alight
-
Should the driver require to exit the vehicle at any given time the control room has to be notified and they need to obtain approval with the Occurrence Book (OB) Number

Perform control function of scheduled trips
-
Perform standard checks before departing from the branch
-
Ensure that all operational equipment needed for the trip, eg customer keys, replacement bags,CPDs, radios and scanners are in good working condition before departing the branch
-
Report over the radio to the Controller of the scheduled route, details of crew members, route number, its call sign, its servicing areas, planned trip/route, mileage, time of departure and anticipated time of return

Ensure that trip scheduling is maintained and adhered to as planned in line with route optimisation best practices, and any deviations must be immediately reported to the Control Room for management consideration and approval

Report to the Control Room immediately when the vehicle becomes immobilized or likely to become immobilized for whatsoever reason

Comply with instructions to ensure that company codes are adhered to and precautions are taken to protect the crew and load

Report any suspicious vehicles, persons and / or activities immediately to the control room
-
Comply with vehicle operating instructions

Carry out operational security drills and maintain security awareness and vigilance
-
Take preventative action if any suspicious activity is noticed
-
Ensure collection schedules are completed and handed to the Radio Controllers by the end of the shift

Ensure the vehicle is refuelled for the next shift
-
The Vehicle is to be kept clean to maintain the image of the company

Ensure that all communication is in line with the driver operating procedures

Do not expose self, vehicle, assets and crew to any risks

Do not expose any member of the public or customers at risk

Participate in safety forums at the branch level

Reporting of all safety incidents to the Control Room and ensure that an OB number is obtained

Attend safety education and refresher programmes

Comply with ALL safety policies and procedures in the workplace

Wear protective clothing (bulletproof vests) at ALL times in the performance of one's duties (this includes any Secure environment)

Obey any reasonable instruction/duties issued by branch management

PSIRA Grade C Certification
Cash In Transit Certification
SAPS Firearm Competency for Handgun Certificate
Statement of Results report from Professional Firearms Trainers Council (PFTC) or Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA) for Firearm with Business purposes
