We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale digital transformation initiatives within a complex financial services environment. The ideal candidate is delivery-focused, governance-driven, and confident operating in a hybrid delivery model that blends both Agile and Waterfall ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of major digital transformation projects.

  • Ensure robust adherence to governance standards, including SIM-STD-15 compliance.

  • Drive project planning, execution, reporting, and risk management across cross-functional teams.

  • Support and align Agile squads within an overarching Waterfall governance framework.

  • Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, communication, and alignment across business and technology teams.

  • Manage project budgets, timelines, dependencies, and vendor relationships.

  • Enable value-driven outcomes aligned to strategic objectives within the financial domain.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in project management within large-scale financial digital transformation programmes.

  • Proven experience operating in ABSA’s hybrid Waterfall–Agile delivery model (or similar enterprise environment).

  • Strong understanding of governance, delivery assurance, and risk controls.

  • Certifications: PMP® and PRINCE2®.

  • Solid stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership capabilities.

  • Experience delivering technology, digital banking, or regulatory change projects.
