CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The primary objective of this role is to deliver comprehensive psychosocial, educational, and welfare support to students residing in campus accommodations. This is accomplished through a combination of individualised attention, group initiatives, and community engagement strategies designed to promote overall well-being, resilience, and academic achievement. Our approach is rooted in a student-centred philosophy and is guided by a professional, multidisciplinary framework of primary healthcare, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met with compassion and expertise.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Ensure that university and national policies relevant to the residential landscape are effectively initiated and implemented, particularly those with a focus on social welfare.
• Provide expert assistance to students facing complex domestic, social, and adjustment challenges.
• Offer guidance regarding residential discipline.
• Oversee the daily administration of social welfare services.

REQUIREMENTS

• An M+4 qualification in Social Work.
• 3 – 5 years relevant working experience
• Registration with the relevant state authority (SACSSP).
• A valid Driving Licence would be an added advantage.
