Our Client, a reputable and established Commercial Construction firm is seeking a highly skilled, reliable, solutions driven and efficient Senior QS to join their expanding QS team.

Play an integral role in leading/growing the Quantity Surveying team, implementing effective systems and processes, and providing strong leadership to drive performance and efficiency.

In this position, you will further be responsible for controlling the cost and maximising the value of small to large sized construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review architectural and engineering drawings to accurately determine material quantities and project needs.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring expenditure stays within approved budgets.
  • Maximise project value through effective cost management, value engineering, and procurement strategies.
  • Provide effective contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare contracts, tender documentation, and related legal documents for clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance, including negotiation and onboarding.
  • Assist the client’s Quantity Surveyor in compiling and submitting accurate monthly progress claims.
  • Track and document variations, daywork, and escalation due to design changes or site instructions.
  • Identify and assess financial, contractual, and construction-related risks, proposing mitigation strategies where required.
  • Advise clients on strategies, cost-saving measures, and estimated financial impacts of design or construction changes.
  • Record material wastage, prepare variance reports, and recommend improvements for resource efficiency.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Utilize industry-standard software to calculate, record, and track costs, variations, and project progress.
  • Manage the QS function across multiple construction sites, ensuring consistency and accuracy in cost reporting.
  • Prepare and present monthly cost reports, forecasting financial outcomes and highlighting key cost drivers.
  • Oversee and finalise project close-out procedures, including the preparation of final accounts and reconciliations.
  • Handle contractual claims in collaboration with legal and project management teams to protect the company’s interests.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or BTech degree in quantity surveying
  • Min 5-10 years of general construction quantity surveying experience
  • Proficient in CCS – Candy & QTO and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Extensive knowledge of JBCC contracts
  • Able to analyse financial records and apply data to improved results
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
  • Able to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Must have own reliable transport
