We are looking for a registered and experienced Senior Architectural Technologist or Architect to take the lead on the design and execution of retail and QSR projects. This role demands a creative problem-solver with technical precision, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to deliver innovative architectural solutions from concept design through to occupation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct accurate site measurements and produce detailed, compliant drawings to company and franchisor specifications.

  • Lead the design process with creativity and innovation, ensuring high-quality, detail-driven results.

  • Ensure all drawings and plans meet National Building Regulations (SANS) and other statutory requirements.

  • Manage the end-to-end submission process of construction and signage drawings to local authorities, securing approvals and occupation certificates.

  • Conduct site research to identify regulations, restrictions, and development opportunities.

  • Oversee project administration including costings, schedules, and documentation.

  • Collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, contractors, and municipal officials.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or similar tertiary qualification) in Architecture.

  • Registered with SACAP (compulsory).

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in architectural practice, with a focus on retail or QSR environments.

  • Proficiency in REVIT LT (essential).

  • Strong knowledge of local authority submissions, legislation, and council procedures.

  • Proven ability to manage projects across all development phases.

  • Excellent project administration, time management, and organisational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Valid driver’s licence with willingness to travel nationwide.
