Job Purpose The IT Technical Intern will assist the IT team with day-to-day technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional IT environment, supporting end-users, resolving technical issues, and learning best practices in IT service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Assist with diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.

Provide first-line technical support to internal staff (remote and on-site).

Log and track support requests through the company’s ticketing/helpdesk system.
2. Hardware & Software Maintenance
-
Support the setup, installation, and configuration of desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

Assist with software updates, antivirus checks, and routine maintenance tasks.

Help maintain inventory records of IT equipment and licenses.
3. Network & Systems Assistance
-
Support the IT team in monitoring network performance and connectivity.

Assist with setting up new user accounts, email addresses, and access permissions.

Learn and apply basic network troubleshooting techniques.
4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate documentation of IT processes, configurations, and incident resolutions.

Assist in creating user guides and training material for common IT tasks.
Skills & Competencies

Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.

Familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS, Office 365, and common business applications.

Education & Experience Requirements

Currently studying or recently completed an IT-related qualification (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field).

Basic knowledge of IT systems and troubleshooting.

Prior internship or volunteer IT experience will be advantageous but not required.
