Barista Cape Town Hourly Paid As our Barista, you will be responsible for providing the highest level of hospitality and guest experience when preparing and serving warm beverages. You will work in any food and beverage outlet, such as room service, lounge, restaurant, conference, and events. This role includes preparing the area for service, welcoming and interacting with customers, taking orders, and serving drinks. You will interpret guests' needs and translate them into beverage recommendations that impress and prepare coffees at a consistent standard, upselling products and meeting targets. With your Matric Certificate, you have relevant up-market restaurant experience in a 4* or equivalent environment and a background in micros and speed point machine operations. You are able to work various shifts across multiple functions (restaurant, room service, lounge, conference, and events). As our Barista, you are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, reflecting the high standards of our establishment. Your barista skills should be honed for an upmarket environment, with a comprehensive understanding of the hotel's offerings and local attractions. Excellent communication skills and a detailed knowledge of menu terminology, including an in-depth understanding of the current menu and coffee list, are crucial for providing a high level of service. Your selling skills will help you recommend and upsell items, while your ability to proficiently use technology, such as mobile devices, will streamline your workflow and enhance customer service.
