Mission/Core Purpose of the Job:
The Project Manager for Education Projects is responsible for overseeing and executing education-related projects across various countries. This role involves managing various aspects of educational and eHealth content, digital marketing, go-to-market plans, user acquisition, and reporting. The incumbent will produce regular reports and may need to travel occasionally if the project expands to other African countries. An essential aspect of this role is having a strong background in launching EdTech or eHealth projects.

Additionally, an understanding of the evolving technologies, market dynamics and legal insights in the EdTech and ehealth industry is highly valued.

Our client is in a transformative phase, where operational and commercial excellence is critical for success. The Manager: e-Digital Services and New Verticals will contribute to the development and expansion of new service verticals, with a focus on eHealth, eEducation, and eHome. This role will involve market research, partnership establishment, and driving ecosystem and business development within selected eServices. Collaboration with various teams, including Delivery Strategy and Consumer teams, is crucial. The digital economy in Africa is growing rapidly, and our client aims to accelerate its growth by evolving the Digital Services portfolio.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
The Project Manager for Education Projects will be responsible for the following:

  • Identifying and exploring new service verticals within Digital Services, such as eHealth, eEducation, and eHome.
  • Conducting thorough market research to assess the viability and potential of these verticals.
  • Developing and executing strategies to bring new services to market.
  • Managing the end-to-end product development process.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Managing strategic partnerships with external organizations.
  • Driving ecosystem and business growth within selected eServices.
  • Aligning the development of new services with the overall organizational strategy.
  • Ensuring seamless integration and delivery of digital services across various consumer touchpoints.

  • Education Services project roadmap
  • Catalogue of education services with aligned partners
  • Increased customer retention and usage of educational assets

Role Dependencies:

  • Collaboration with our client OpCos Digital Services teams
  • Interaction with Market and Verticals Group Digital Services team

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, and Competencies):
Education:

  • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree or any Commercial or Technical Degree
  • Post Graduate Qualification (MBA/Masters advantageous)
  • Fluent in English, with conversational French required.
  • Graduate Qualification in Business Administration or Project Management or Marketing

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Project Management, preferably in EdTech or eHealth projects
  • Experience of working in a Telco is advantageous but not essential
  • Knowledge of platforms and proven experience in scaling corporate platforms or startups with an annual turnover of more than $100m
  • Proven track record of working across diverse cultures and geographies
  • Proven track record in managing stakeholders across multiple functions
