Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, 5 *

Salary: ZAR18000 - ZAR20000 Per month

Job Duties:

  • Assist Head Chef in menu planning and creation of new dishes
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation and presentation
  • Oversee food production and maintain high quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
  • Manage kitchen inventory and control food costs

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and best practises
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant food safety certification

Education:

Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency in menu planning and food costing
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and management
  • Creative flair and passion for culinary arts
  • Knowledge of international cuisines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant
  • Culinary certifications or additional training

Working Conditions:

This role requires standing for long periods, working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
