Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Lonehill Manor Retirement Estate. This is a day duty position from Monday to Friday, with standby responsibilities for emergency situations. On-site accommodation is provided. The ideal candidate will have shift leader experience, a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, and the ability to respond promptly and effectively to resident needs.

What to Expect:

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely
  • Maintain detailed, up-to-date records of resident care, medication, and treatment plans
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations while on standby, providing appropriate intervention and support
  • Assess and monitor residents’ overall health and well-being, identifying any changes and taking appropriate action
  • Provide holistic, person-centred nursing care tailored to individual resident needs
  • Supervise and support caregiving staff in their duties, ensuring standards of care are met
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive resident care
  • Manage and maintain medical supplies and equipment, including control and documentation of scheduled drugs
  • Provide regular updates to the facility manager regarding residents’ conditions and concerns

What You'll Bring:

Minimum Requirements

  • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
  • At least 5 to 10 years of nursing experience, with previous shift leader or supervisory responsibilities preferred
  • Strong clinical knowledge and practical experience in chronic disease management
  • Experience in geriatric nursing or working in a retirement or frail care setting is an advantage
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and critical thinking
  • You will be required to reside on the property during week days
