Job Description: Accountant

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Cape Town office. This role goes beyond traditional accounting—you must be able to colour outside the lines, be innovative, and roll with the punches. We operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and we value professionals who combine accuracy with agility and creativity.

As part of our finance team, you’ll support several business entities within the Western Cape, helping to drive clear, strategic financial reporting and insight across a diverse group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers across multiple group entities.
  • Manage daily accounting operations including bank reconciliations, invoices, journals, and payment processing.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and support consolidated financial statements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with South African tax, VAT, and regulatory standards.
  • Support internal audits and financial reviews.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems and controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide financial input into business projects.

What We’re Looking For:

We need someone who not only has technical expertise but also a creative and resilient mindset. The ideal candidate:

  • Must be able to colour outside the lines, be innovative, and roll with the punches.
  • Is comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.
  • Has excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Can juggle multiple responsibilities without losing sight of priorities.
  • Communicates clearly and works well across teams.
  • Enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of South African accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working across multiple business units or industries is an advantage.
  • Professional certification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, or equivalent) is a plus.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary package.
  • A role that offers variety, autonomy, and real impact.
  • A values-driven, entrepreneurial environment.
  • The chance to work with a diverse and growing group, all based in the Western Cape.
  • A full-time, office-based position in Cape Town with a supportive team culture.
