We are seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Lodge Support and Training specialist to standardize, support, and elevate the retail guest experience across all our &Beyond Signature shops in Africa. This role will focus on staff training, retail operations, visual merchandising, and sales strategy—delivered through a combination of in-person lodge visits and structured online learning sessions using Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms


KEY OUTPUTS:

1. Training & Development

•Deliver structured onboarding and refresher training (virtual + in-lodge)

•Create digital and print training tools (manuals, videos, guides)

•Coach teams on upselling, service, and guest engagement

•Build self-paced learning systems accessible in remote environments

2. Operational Support

•Travel to lodges for hands-on support and audits

•Ensure inventory control, reordering systems, and loss prevention are optimized

•Provide POS (PANSTRAT) training and ensure correct usage

•Align shop operations while respecting unique lodge identities

3. Visual Merchandising

•Oversee cohesive, brand-aligned merchandising across all shops

•Support layout and seasonal refresh remotely or in-person

•Collaborate with buying team to curate lodge-specific collections

4. Sales Performance & Guest Experience

•Work with lodge teams to align retail offerings with guest expectations

•Help set KPIs and sales goals; provide ongoing support to achieve them

•Host pre-season and refresher training updates

5. Reporting & Feedback

•Conduct digital check-ins and performance reviews

•Analyse sales and team feedback to inform improvements

•Submit timely monthly reports and summaries

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Luxury retail background (preferably lodge-based or hospitality)
  • Experience delivering virtual and on-site training
  • Strong grasp of inventory management, visual merchandising, and POS
  • Comfortable with digital tools (Microsoft Teams, Office, retail software)
  • Graphic design abilities a plus (Adobe illustrator or other)
  • Excellent interpersonal & cross-cultural communication skills
  • Creative eye for shop design and storytelling
  • Ability to travel across African countries for 2 weeks at a time

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Retail, Hospitality, Training, or Business
  • 5+ years in luxury retail (preferably multi-site or remote-based)
  • Previous work in remote locations or African travel/hospitality settings preferred
  • Language skills advantageous
  • Valid passport and driving licence
