Our Client a global tech firm is seeking a Senior Programme Manager to join their team in Durban (or remote for candidates in JHB and CPT) on a contract basis. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and a great working environment.

The Senior Programme Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex, cross-functional programmes that align with the organizations strategic goals. This role ensures that all projects within the programme are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while managing risks, stakeholders, and dependencies across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale programmes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Define programme scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
  • Manage interdependencies between projects and ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed programme plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes across the programme lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure effective communication and reporting to executive sponsors and governance boards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in programme delivery methodologies and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in programme and project management, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-stream programmes in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong knowledge of programme management methodologies (e.g., MSP, PMI, Agile, PRINCE2).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and business cases.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Clarity).
  • Experience in change management and organizational transformation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PgMP, MSP, PMP, or SAFe.
  • Experience in sectors such as finance, retail,
