Job Type: 6 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Duties:

The Capital Accounting Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Comparing approved Capital FS Budget by ensuring accurate comparisons for management visibility between order detail and the detail within the approved Capital Budget before placement of Purchase requisitions.
  • Control over the approved Capital Budget by timeous identification of potential cost overruns and negative trends against Contracted / Order amounts by being actively involved in the project and by scrutinizing detail of monthly budget versus actual quantities and costs together with schedule performance and trends.
  • Accurate and timeous recording of actual costs incurred to ensure accurate reporting of cost by the Cost Engineer
  • Generating SAP Reports and comparing:
    • Vendor invoice forecasting vs Actuals.(Invoice processing)
    • Update Invoice payment schedules forecasts on a monthly basis by requesting updated forecast from vendors.
  • Preparation of control package budget impacts and sourcing of funds resulting from a request for change.
  • Ensures timeous processing of approved transfer of funds when required resulting from approved change requests.
  • Ensures timeous settlement of final accounts and order closeout upon completion of work.
  • Ensures governance followed in terms of Budget Limits for approvals and informing the Cost Engineer.
  • Coordination and compilation of all forecasts to be completed for the project costs.
    • Day-to-day cost control.
    • Due dates for payments.
  • Expediting payments of invoices.
  • Expedite orders into SAP.
  • All invoices loaded in SAP.
  • Emergency order and payment in SAP.
  • Verification of all quotes and invoices for correctness prior to processing and submission for signatures

Required Qualifications:

Education:

Matric

Related Qualification/Certification

Experience:

5 years experience as a Capital Accounting Clerk or a similar role within the mining industry

Knowledge and Skills:

  • SAP experience is essential
  • A relevant qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in financial administration
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Understanding of financial principles and practises
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
