Our client is seeking a Millwright Technician to undertake and be responsible for the electrical / mechanical maintenance at our client's Services Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd treatment plants as directed by the Plant Supervisor and as planned in the maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities:

• All mechanical & electrical maintenance and fabrication work is performed to the required quality standards.

• Service and repairs on multidisciplinary equipment in the Overstrand area.

• Electrical and Mechanical fault finding and reporting.

• Installation of equipment in various areas in the Overstrand region.

• Full commissioning of plants and equipment.

• Ensure that serviced and installed/commissioned plant and equipment conforms to specifications before being handed over.

• Promote our client's Services Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd to all customers.

• Maintain a neat and sober manner at all times.

• Maintain the condition of your motor vehicle & tools in an acceptable manner.

• Support and assist with workshop activities.

• Maintain plant equipment to OEM standards.

• Perform mechanical & electrical maintenance and/or building maintenance and /or fabrication work on the water treatment plant(s) in accordance with prescribed maintenance procedures and standards.

• Perform fault finding duties on telemetry systems, motor control centres (LV switchgear and installations), Blowers, Compressors, Generators, pumping systems, bulk water and wastewater pipelines and other electrical and mechanical infrastructure related to water and wastewater treatment and conveyance

• Five years relevant experience in SCADA and PLC control systems as well as field control instrumentation.

• Maintain Safety precautions, and sound housekeeping principles and due care of all equipment/assets under your control/care.

• Ensure that safety procedures are followed and adhered to i.e. PTW, PTO’s and risk assessments etc

• Perform all duties to the standards of an artisan and accept all applicable appointments as a competent person in terms of the Occupational Health and safety Act.

• Ensure the correct usage of all equipment and assets in the workshop and maintenance environments.

• Perform routine and special maintenance interventions on all plant, machinery and ancillary equipment at the treatment plants.

• Assist with commissioning of new or modified plant.

• Assist with the shutdown and start up procedures for all plant.

• Ensure that all work performed by yourself and subordinates is done in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s safe working procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act..

• Preparation of equipment for inspection.

• Monitoring and control of equipment corrosion.

• Supervision of general workers.

• Maintain all records regarding the performance of maintenance duties.

• Control of workshop equipment and tools.

• Be available for 24-hour rotational stand-by duties.

• Undertake related assignments and maintenance duties that will be assigned by the Maintenance Engineer/Manager.

Skills:

• Computer literacy in the google workspace tools & experience with Cloud computing, such as docusign, etc.

• Good administrative skills.

• Verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 3 Qualification.

• Millwright Trade Certificate & Wireman’s licence are essential

• At least ten years related experience.

• 5 years relevant experience in SCADA & PLC control systems as well as field control instrumentation.

• Code B drivers licence.
