Job Title: Safety Officer (10month+ contract)

Job Description

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• Health and Safety qualification (e.g, NEBOSH or equivalent) will be advantageous 
• Fully registered with SACPCMP is a MUST

Required Experience:

• Proven work experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in the construction industry
• Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practises
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of risk assessment and management principles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Job Duties:

• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulations
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Provide safety training to employees and contractors on proper safety protocols and procedures
• Investigate accidents and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for prevention
• Maintain safety records and documentation for audits and regulatory purposes
