Job Title: Maintenance Co-Lead

We’re seeking a Maintenance Co-Lead to join our team at Piekenierskloof Mountain Resort, a low-key holiday destination for multi-gen families and returning guests. Our resort is nestled in the Cedarberg Mountains, just above the town of Citrusdal, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful escape for our guests.

As a Maintenance Co-Lead, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our guests by overseeing all maintenance operations at the resort. You will supervise and work alongside our maintenance team, collaborating with our Security Manager and Environmental Committee to uphold strict health and safety regulations and promote sustainable practises. With your expertise, we can maintain our resort's natural beauty while improving its operational efficiency.

If you have 2-3 years of supervisory experience, ideally in the hospitality industry, and a passion for creating a positive impact, we want to hear from you.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist the maintenance team in carrying out daily tasks, repairs, and projects.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
  • Implement and uphold safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the resort’s Environmental Committee to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly practises are integrated into maintenance operations.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance budget and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Keep maintenance logs and records up to date, ensuring efficient reporting and tracking of all work carried out.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Matric Certificate
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance, ideally within hospitality.
  • 3-5 years of relevant maintenance experience
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and bricklaying
  • Hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a small team.
