Our client is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their team, based in Mozambique. A Finance Business Partner (FBP) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the finance department and other parts of the business. They provide financial analysis, insightful analysis, and support to help drive strategic decision-making and improve overall business performance. A Finance Business Partner is a strategic role that requires a blend of financial expertise, business acumen, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively support and drive business performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Analyse financial performance against key business metrics and identify areas for improvement.

  • Lead the budgeting process for specific business units or the entire organization.

  • Develop financial forecasts and track performance against them.

  • Identify risks and opportunities in financial plans and advise management accordingly.

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans.

  • Provide financial input and modelling for business cases, new projects, and investment opportunities.

  • Support business units with financial planning and performance improvement initiatives.

  • Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries from other departments.

  • Work closely with operational teams to understand their financial needs and challenges.

  • Communicate financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in financial management.

  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support business decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or management accounting. Professional certification with designation ACMA (CGMA) or studying towards such certification viewed as advantageous.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Mining and Metals industry, with a strong track record of supporting business decision-making.

  • Understanding of the business environment and the ability to align financial strategies with business goals.

  • Commitment to ethical behaviours and maintaining confidentiality of financial information.

  • Proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and the use of financial software (e.g. Microsoft excel, ERP systems, Power BI tools).
