Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative R&D professional to join their Bakery division in KwaZulu-Natal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving product development and innovation within the bakery category, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market trends, and the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of new bakery products from concept to commercialization.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, quality, and production.

• Conduct product testing and sensory evaluations to ensure quality and consistency.

• Maintain and update technical documentation and formulations.

• Engage with customers to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

• Stay informed on global and local bakery trends and technologies.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

• Provide technical support during product launches and production scale-up.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.

• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in R&D within the bakery or food manufacturing sector.

• Experience working with ingredient solutions and bakery applications is highly advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of bakery ingredients, processes, and formulations.

• Proficiency in MS Office and formulation software.
