Our client is seeking a Key Account Manager (Meat) to join their team in South Africa. This role is responsible for driving growth and managing strategic customer relationships within the meat sector, ensuring commercial success and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow key customer accounts within the meat industry segment across South Africa.

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans in alignment with overall business objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for new business development and value-added solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and operations to deliver tailored customer solutions.

  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers and ensure alignment with their needs and expectations.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategy and decision-making.

  • Achieve sales targets, manage pricing negotiations, and ensure margin expectations are met.

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and reporting through internal systems.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in key account management, preferably within the food or meat processing industry.

  • Strong understanding of the meat industry, customer dynamics, and market trends.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth and managing high-value accounts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

  • Willingness to travel as required across South Africa.
