As the Group Benefits Intermediate Data Administrator, you’ll be responsible for managing scheme data and overseeing monthly processes for Group Risk and Retirement Fund schemes. The role involves ensuring data accuracy, handling reconciliations, supporting renewals and regulatory compliance, and resolving client queries. It also includes mentoring junior team members, contributing to process improvements, and building strong relationships with both clients and service providers. This position requires in-depth knowledge of employee benefits, strong data analysis skills, and a proactive, service-driven approach.

What to Expect

  • Oversee monthly updates and billing for Group Risk and Retirement Fund schemes
  • Identify schemes due for renewal and manage associated data processes
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness across all schemes
  • Reconcile monthly receipts and validate against prior month data
  • Maintain timely premium reconciliations (within monthly turnaround targets)
  • Validate Risk product allocations against quotes and member lists
  • Prepare and distribute contribution schedules by the required date of each month
  • Ensure compliance with Section 13A for Retirement Funds and manage Credit Control for Risk-only schemes
  • Process terminations and follow up on outstanding claims
  • Issue member benefit statements and renewal membership packs
  • Handle Section 14 transfers, liquidation exemptions, and full liquidation procedures
  • Take full ownership of client queries, ensuring timely resolution
  • Train and review the work of junior team members
  • Review team tasks and provide peer feedback
  • Support growth of the Group Benefits team and contribute to strategic business goals
  • Ensure all processes adhere to current legislative and regulatory standards
  • Participate in business improvement projects and team development initiatives
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with service providers and stakeholders

What you'll Bring

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree (advantageous)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Group Benefits
  • RE5 Certification (Regulatory Examination 5)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of employee benefits processes
