Our client is seeking a Director to join their team, based in Zambia.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership, guiding the strategic direction of the school to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Collaborate prayerfully with the Board of Governors to implement and refine long-term strategic plans and institutional goals.

  • Ensure alignment of all school initiatives with our client’s Christian mission, values, and educational objectives.

  • Maintain strong governance structures, ensuring transparency, compliance, and accountability in all aspects of school management.

  • Oversee and take ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the school’s operations, including Primary School, Secondary School, and the Outdoor Centre.

  • Lead the senior leadership team to create and implement policies that drive excellence across academic, financial, and administrative functions.

  • Ensure compliance with all national and international accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and educational best practices.

  • Develop and execute strategies for growth, expansion, and long-term sustainability of the institution.

  • Set and uphold high academic standards across all educational programs, ensuring student achievement and staff accountability.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation in both traditional and outdoor learning environments.

  • Oversee curriculum development to ensure alignment with international standards while preserving our client’s Christian ethos.

  • Champion experiential learning, integrating outdoor education within the broader school curriculum.

  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated educators and administrators, fostering a culture of professional and spiritual growth.

  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development of all staff.

  • Promote a positive, Christ-centered working environment that encourages collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.

  • Ensure staff well-being, engagement, and retention through effective leadership, mentorship, and pastoral care.

  • Oversee the spiritual and moral development of students, ensuring a Christ-centered learning environment.

  • Take ultimate responsibility for student safeguarding, well-being, and holistic development.

  • Strengthen partnerships with local churches and Christian organizations to support students and staff in their faith journeys.

  • Ensure our client maintains a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every student is supported academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • Oversee the financial health of the institution, ensuring long-term sustainability through effective budgeting and resource allocation.

  • Work with the Business Manager to develop financial strategies, monitor budgets, and ensure sound financial governance.

  • Develop and oversee fundraising and development initiatives, including donor engagement and grant applications.

  • Ensure responsible stewardship of infrastructure, facilities, and resources to support school growth and operations.

  • Serve as the primary ambassador ofour client, fostering relationships with parents, alumni, donors, and external stakeholders.

  • Represent the school at national and international educational forums, conferences, and networking events.

  • Oversee public relations, marketing, and branding strategies to enhance our client’s reputation and visibility.

  • Strengthen partnerships with government bodies, educational institutions, and Christian organizations.

  • Ensure effective risk management strategies are in place, covering health and safety, legal compliance, and institutional security.

  • Oversee crisis management planning and response, ensuring preparedness for emergencies.

  • Ensure the school’s policies and procedures are up to date and effectively implemented across all departments.

  • Undertake any other duties or tasks reasonably directed by the Board of Governors, contributing to the overall success and development of the school.

Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in Education, Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within an educational institution, preferably in a Christian school environment.

  • Experience in staff management, governance, and stakeholder engagement.

  • A deep understanding of academic administration, curriculum development, and educational leadership.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in strategic financial management.

  • A strong personal Christian faith and a commitment to the mission and ethos of our client.
